Successful Virtual Talk on Emerging Technologies in Education
Bhubaneswar, 22 May 2026 — The IEEE Computer Society Chapter, Bhubaneswar Section successfully organized a virtual technical talk on 22 May 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM IST.
Speaker: Dr. Ajay Shankar Tiwari, Assistant Professor, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar.
Topic: Emerging Technologies in Education: The Role of AI, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality
Dr. Tiwari delivered an insightful session highlighting how Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality (AR), and Virtual Reality (VR) are transforming the educational landscape. He elaborated on adaptive learning systems, intelligent tutoring, immersive classroom experiences, and experiential learning opportunities enabled by these technologies. The talk also addressed key implementation challenges including infrastructure requirements, equity, and ethical considerations in educational technology.
The engaging session was attended by more than 20 IEEE professional and student members.
About the Speaker Dr. Ajay Shankar Tiwari is an Assistant Professor at ITER, SOA University with specialized research expertise in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing. He earned his Ph.D. in Augmented Reality from IIT Kharagpur and M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering from Jadavpur University.
He is the developer of “Engineering Drawing in Augmented Reality (EDINAR)” — an AR-based educational platform for which he has received copyright registration. Dr. Tiwari has published extensively in prestigious venues including IEEE ICALT, ICCE, ACM VRST, and T4E, and was part of the award-winning team at IEEE Hack the Metaverse 2023.
