Dr. Madhusree Kuanr Delivers Insightful Technical Talk on Personalization in Healthcare Using Recommender Systems

Bhubaneswar, 01 May 2026 — The IEEE Computer Society Chapter, Bhubaneswar Section, successfully organized a technical talk on 01 May 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM IST. The session featured Dr. Madhusree Kuanr, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, ITER, SOA Deemed to be University, Odisha.

The talk, titled “Personalization in Healthcare: Unlocking the Power of Recommender Systems”, explored how recommender systems — widely used in e-commerce and entertainment — are transforming modern healthcare. Dr. Kuanr highlighted how these systems analyze patient histories, genetic data, lifestyle factors, and treatment outcomes to deliver personalized recommendations for diagnostics, therapies, and preventive care. She emphasized the role of dynamic adaptation in evolving recommendations based on changing patient conditions and advancing medical knowledge, thereby supporting precision medicine and optimizing healthcare resources.

The engaging session provided valuable insights into patient-centered care, clinical decision-making, and improved treatment adherence, resonating strongly with the audience.

More than 24 professional and student members actively participated in the event.

About the Speaker

Dr. Madhusree Kuanr holds a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from BPUT, M.Tech from Utkal University, and a Ph.D. in CSE from IIIT Bhubaneswar. With 13 years of teaching experience, her research interests include Recommender Systems, Fuzzy Decision Making, Evolutionary Computing, Data Mining, Machine Learning, and Cloud Computing.
