09th April 2026: 6th IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter Inaugurated at Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM), Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, 9th April 2026 – The IEEE Computer Society Chapter, Bhubaneswar Section proudly announces the successful inauguration of its 6th Student Branch Chapter at Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM), Bhubaneswar. The ceremony was held on 9th April 2026 at 9:00 AM in Hall No. 6, Aryabhatta Building, and was graced by the presence of distinguished academicians, faculty members, students, and IEEE volunteers.

Shri Hare Krishna Ratha, Chair, IEEE Computer Society Chapter, Bhubaneswar Section and Advisor, IEEE Bhubaneswar Section, served as the Chief Guest and delivered the inaugural address. In his speech, he congratulated the CUTM family for their initiative and highlighted the growing momentum of Computer Society activities in Odisha. He emphasized that the new chapter will provide students with access to world-class resources, international competitions, distinguished lectures, and opportunities in cutting-edge domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, and Quantum Computing.

The inauguration ceremony was combined with the vibrant student exhibition Techspark 2.0, where budding engineers showcased innovative projects and prototypes. The event offered a wonderful platform for students to demonstrate their creativity and technical skills, reflecting the chapter’s commitment to hands-on learning and real-world problem-solving.

Shri Ratha expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Sujata Chakravarthy for the kind invitation and to Prof Raj Kumar Mahant, Dr. Sudhanshu Samal & Dr. Rahul Ray for their tireless efforts in the formation of the chapter and for ensuring a smooth and comfortable visit. He also interacted with senior academicians including Prof. Ganapati Panda, Prof. Jagannath Padhi, Prof. Nagesh, and other faculty members, appreciating the strong institutional support extended by CUTM.
