Webinar on Opportunity for Women In Future

IEEE Women in Engineering IUB Student Branch Affinity Group supported by IEEE IUB Student Branch organized a series of webinar titled “Opportunity For Women In Future” on March 10, 2023 at Google Meet.

In collaboration with IEEE Electron Devices Society SEC Student Branch Chapter, IEEE PES Kenyatta University Student Branch, IEEE Sri Sairam Engineering College, IEEE Women in Engineering SEC Student Branch Chapter, IEEE CU ISLAMABAD, IEEE Women in Engineering COMSATS ISLAMABAD and IEEE Women in Engineering Stamford University Bangladesh SB AG, the webinar was very fruitful. The technical partners were IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter, IEEE Photonic Society Bangladesh Chapter and IEEE Power & Energy Society Kenya Chapter. In the future, opportunities for women are expected to expand and grow in many different areas. As society continues to recognize the valuable contributions of women, more doors are opening for them to pursue careers, leadership roles, and entrepreneurial ventures. Women are increasingly pursuing education and training in STEM fields, traditionally male-dominated areas, and are also making strides in politics and business.

Two sessions were held on the topic of what opportunities will be available for women in the future. There were 67 attendees, 49 of whom were IEEE members. The speaker of the first session was Sihinta Sabin Khan, Creative Director and Head, Sabah Khan Company. She is an entrepreneur. She expressed her story of struggling to establish her business. She also shared information about her previous employment. She expressed her different feelings as a jobholder and a businessperson. So that women get a clear picture of job life and business life and can differentiate between them. The speaker of the second session was Chaltu Marta, ALI, Humanitarian Engineering, Chair of the IEEE Power and Energy Society Kenya. She expressed her lifestyle and her experiences in the job sector. She also discussed the benefits of engineering and the future scope of women in the job sector. From sessions 1 and 2, the participants got a clear picture of the job sector, which will help them set their goals. These two sessions were very informative and inspirational.
