About Us

As a local chapter of the IEEE Photonics Society, we aim to promote photonics research and development, focusing on applications in areas such as fiber optics, sensors, communications, and integrated photonic circuits. We engage with academia, industry, and the research community to create a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.

The Chapter was established on March 22, 2021. Dr. Sajid Muhaimin Choudhury petitioned for the creation of the Chapter. Prof. Celia Shahnaz, Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section, Endorsed the petition, and the petition was signed by 12 society members.
