About IEEE Bahawalpur Subsection

South Punjab is mostly considered as an under developed area of Pakistan covered with deserts and rural areas.  But when it comes to talent and education it is not less than anyone else.

IEEE was initiated in South Punjab on 25th March, 2010 when IEEE Student branch (UCET-IUB) was opened in University College of engineering & Technology Islamia University Bahawalpur. Engr. Qaiser Ijaz & Dr. Muhammad Ali Qureshi was its founding chairperson & Branch Counselor.

This journey went through many ups and downs, but sustained due to tireless efforts of its volunteers. After the formation of first branch in 2010, a new chapter added to this story in 2015 when IEEE student Branch was opened in University College of engineering & Technology Islamia University Bahauddin Zikaraya University Multan which ultimately led to the foundation IEEE Bahawalpur Subsection.

The IEEE Bahawalpur Sub-Section was formed on 13 th February 2016. Engr. Anees-ul-Hasnain was its founding chair. More than fifty IEEE good standing members from south Punjab shared their contribution in signing the petition. It comprises the territories of Southern Punjab starting from Sahiwal city up to Sadiqabad and D. G. Khan. There are four active student branches under the subsection, University College of Engineering & Technology Islamia University Bahawalpur (UCET-IUB), University College of Engineering & Technology Bahauddin Zikaraya University (UCET-BZU) Multan, Khawaja Farid University of Engineering & Information Technology (KFUEIT) Rahim Yar Khan, and National Fertilizer Corporation Institute of Engineering & Technology (NFC-IET) student branches.
